Surgical Support Staff
Barbara has been involved in veterinary medicine in different capacities for more than 20 years. She has learned all responsibilities involved within a successful veterinary practice and recognizes the necessity to remain calm, cool and collected during any emergency situation. Barbara is always confident in handling the grumpiest of patients while administering their care.
Truly her “mother’s daughter”, Barbara’s compassion for animals extends beyond the hospital to include any animal in need. Her family has cared for cats, goats, chickens and various unruly wildlife patients. Presently, her chihuahua “Merlin” officiates all activities in our hospital office area. When not at work, Barbara can be found spending time with her best friend, who also happens to be her daughter, “Julie”. Although she takes pride in balancing home life and work , she also somehow finds the energy to have fun and create memories with her family and her good friends.
Surgical Support Staff
Jen joined LISN in January 2017. She brings over 17 years of surgical assistant experience to our surgical team. Jen loves the fast-paced enviornment of being a surgical assistant and performing the variety of tasks that are scheduled for each patient. She enjoys making a positive difference in the lives of the patients and we are thankful for the upbeat, enthusiastic attitude she brings to work each day.
Other than being with us at work, Jen is the definition of “salt life” as she enjoys any beach
related activity. Weather permitting, she can be found at the beach fishing, clamming, catching some sun or camping.
At home you can find Jen out in her garden or during the colder months, she may kick up snow as she passes you on a ski trail. Regardless of weather, she always enjoys time spent with her “three handsome sons and one sexy husband”. Her extended family includes a rescue shihtzu, an aussie, chickens, a cat, a mini horse and “Louie” the fiesty goat. (If it was up to her she would also rescue 100 turtles.)
Veterinarian Assistant/Receptionist/Professional dog hugger
Katie has been in the veterinary field for a little over 3 years. She enjoys working in the fast paced
environment and lending a hand wherever she can. In her free time she enjoys traveling, volunteering at local animal shelters, spending time with family, friends, and her 3 fur babies.
Tina Marie Visintin
Tina Marie has worked in the veterinary field since 2003. She demonstrates an undeniable passion for animals and is committed to client education regarding their care. Her ability to multi task and her attention to detail is a true asset to our team during working hours. (However, during stressful day, there is nothing which compares to one of Tina’s custom dance moves to elevate the entire staff’s spirits.)
Our staff, clients and patients all enjoy the caring spirit and the nurturing demeanor she brings to our team.
As a devoted mother, Tina Marie enjoys spending her down-time with her loving family and the “furry babies” they all treasure. Her devotion to her family and her selfless generosity is indisputable.
This includes her mastery at keeping the desk “snack drawer” well stocked and her willingness to share with us all.
Karen is one of our receptionists.
Meet “Merlin” our hospital mascot and official dog treat connoisseur. His quiet demeanor and adorable antics are a prescription for unlimited smiles.
